Rivka op’t Veld, the host from NOS Sport, spotted by coïncidence a special guest for Lineth Beerensteyn at ‘Het Kasteel’, where Lineth played against Finland with the Oranje Leeuwinnen.
In the NOS Voetbal Podcast, the host said she came across Tommy Kroos, the coach from Vfl Wolfsburg, who is reported to sign the Dutch attacking player. When Rivka op’t Veld asked him if he was there for Lineth Beerensteyn, he dodged the question with a wink and said he was there for Caitlin Dijkstra. A Dutch international player who will join the Wolfsburg team after being on loan to FC Twente. Yet, Dijkstra was injured for quite some time and did not join the national squad.
Lineth was able to put a good performance on the field. She scored the only goal against Finland and secured The Dutch team 3 point and a number 1 position in Group A after 3 matches. So far, Lineth has been the only one to have scored for the Netherlands this Euro-qualifiers. On matchday 2 she scored against Norway.
Lineth has been critisized a lot, for her weaker performance at the world cup. She had to fill the big shoes of absent Vivianne Miedema. Yet, she scored quite consistantly during the interland breaks. She has scored 4 goals in the Nations League and 2 in the Euro Qualifiers. She’s done a good job.
It seems Lineth Beerensteyn migt be the first Dutch transfer to be announced soon. She announced quite early in the year she was set to leave Juventus.
